This is a fun, interesting, challenging golf course in the northern part of Scotland. We played on a day that had sun, rain and wind, but still loved every hole.
The layout is an old Tom Morris design and is chock full of little hilly fairways and hidden gems. The greens are true and some of the holes are very challenging. Like always, we’d like to play it a second time to play it better, knowing what lies ahead.
There is a plaque on the 377 yard, par 4, 7th hole where in the final of the 2010 (?) club championships a local member Everitt (?) had a hole in one. Amazing achievement!
The clubhouse is fine and we had a drink and fresh chicken wrap before we hit off. The pro was very helpful, giving us tips on how a few of the holes were laid out.
Well worth stopping in for a round on your way to Dornoch.
