It is remarkable that a small country such as Scotland should have seen such global success with its national spirit – Whisky. In 2019 Scotch Whisky accounted for over 20% of all UK food and drink exports and demand is outstripping current supply. New distilleries are emerging, from the Isle of Raasay to Glen Wyvis near Dingwall. The North Highland region is home to a few big names in the malt whisky sector, from Dalmore to Balblair and Glenmorangie to Clynelish.
