Scotland is a coastal nation with more than 700 islands and a mainland coastline over 6000 miles in length. It has numerous rivers, more than 25,000 lochs and one of the deepest at 227 metres, Loch Ness, holds more freshwater in it than all the freshwater held in England and Wales! Scotland’s marine and inland waters are used for drinking water, for hydroelectric power and for recreation, the latter which includes sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding and boat trips at locations all over the Highlands. We work with local partners to offer some of these exciting waterborne trips.
