Scotland has a well-developed country sports sector that supports employment in remote rural areas. The North Highlands is one of the least populated areas in western Europe and home to many large sporting estates, that offer gamebird shooting and deer stalking. Wild birds include grouse, snipe, woodcock, duck and geese. There are three deer species that are hunted – red deer, sika deer and roe deer. Our region is one of the best for challenging, wild, sustainable hunting activities and all the game is prepared ethically and used in food production. We also offer clay pigeon and rifle shooting at the Highland Shooting Centre near Lairg.
